The Beach
Our no-bank sand and pebble beach offers a playground for both kids and adults. At low tide, kids can explore tide pools for all kinds of sea creatures. Grab a shovel and a bucket from our activities kiosk and set off for a clamming adventure. Butterclams and cockles are the most common catch. Lift up a rock and you may find crabs, eels, fish, or even a sea cucumber! At extreme low tides, you can even walk out to our floating docks and find sea anemones and starfish clinging to our pilings.
At low tide (height of 0.0), our beach reveals 160,000 square feet of mostly sand but also small rocks in certain areas. The area exposed by the retreating tide is home to many species of crabs, eels, and other sea creatures. Here at West Beach, kids like to spend the day on the beach lifting rocks looking for these sea creatures. Back to Map Home | ||||||||
